Corinthians got there season off to a fine start against Sligo in the Connacht Senior League up in Hamilton Park.Corinthians were first on the score board with an early touch down by winger James Buckley, outhalf Mick O Flynn converted same. OFlynn was on the scoreboard again with a penalty after the Sligo front row infringed.The home side got on the score board in the twentieth minute with Thomas Stenson touching down out wide outhalf John Healy converted the extras.Healy converted a penalty just before the break to put Sligo on  level terms.The visitors were on the attack early in the second half with  center Wayne Williams getting in for the touchdown after fine play by there backline.Winger Brian Dixon who replaced injured  James Buckley got in to score an opportunist try for the Cloonacauneen outfit midway through the second half.Both sides exchanged penalties later in the contest but Sligo keeped pluging away and eventually scrumhalf Shane McGuinness got in for a fine try.Corinthians also dug deep and finished off the game with scrum half Mick Murphy getting the touchdown leaving the final score Sligo 18 points Corinthians 28 points.

Corinthians next senior league game is away to Galwegians in Glenina on Saturday 10th at 12.30pm.
