The first competitive game of the new season for the senior fifteen took place on Saturday in Cloonacauneen against city rivals Galwegians.The visitors were were on the score board after lock Ian Cullinane got in for a touch down.

Corinthians replyed with a penalty after ten minutes with a fine strike by Shane Munnally. Wegians made it eight points to three mid way through the half with a conversion by John Cleary.

It was nip and tuck for the second half with both sides converting penalites leaving the score nearing fulltime Corinthians fifteen Galwegians fourteen.The visitors had the last say of the senior league incounter with fullback John Cleary touching down for an opertune try after a mix up by the home side backline.

Final score Corinthians 15 – Galwegians 19.

The game was well refereed by Paul Jennings.
