All the minis deserve a break this week following our successful run of challenging games. Last week it was the turn of the Under 10 to travel to Ballina and by all accounts we have at least 5 future inter provincial players and maybe two internationals!
The under 6,7,8,9,11,12 all played Thomond and its safe to say that this group of minis are a credit to their club and to rugby in general. Again the Mini coaches got the best dressed award thanks to “Joe Joe’s spring collection”.
Enjoy the break and get well rested for the following weeks games against St Marys of Dublin and the Connemara Cup

Following last weeks successful Blitz in Athlone where Corinthians fielded three teams in the Under 11’s, it’s the Under 10’s opportunity to do us proud in Ballina. The two teams have an early start on Saturday morning and it is expected that will continue their excellent brand of rugby.
The Under 6, 7, 8, 11,12 will host Thomond Rugby Club and our cousins An Gaeltacht. Both teams will be travelling with enthusiastic supporters for the kick off at 11.00. All support is welcomed. The Under 9 get the privilege to play the opener game for the season defining Senior AIL game on Saturday. The Under 9 game should get underway at 1.30 with the Senior team kicking off at 2.30.
With the great weather forecast to last we hope that all Corinthians will come to support the kids on Saturday and stay to cheer on the Senior teams extra ordinary promotion effort.

Corinthians Under 12 hosted 24 Teams in the Connacht Blitz on Saturday. Congratulations to Christy and his team for again redefining the standards. As expected everything was meticulously organised from marking of the pitches on Friday evening to having the event running on the fog horn and on time! The Corinthians Under 12 teams played some brilliant rugby and the enjoyed was evident with the smiles afterwards.
Saturday we all travel to Galwegians to compete for the Glynn Cup. The playing times are posted below.
Main Pitch Top Pitch

The Connacht under 12 blitz will be kicking off at 10am on Saturday morning in Corinthians. To facilitate over 300 players normal training for all age groups has been called off. It is hoped that parents and mini’s will support our three teams entered into this monster blitz. Christy O’ Sullivan is the organiser and all assistance would be appreciated.

Condolences go out to Joe Joe Gorham on the death of his dad last week.
The Under 12 had an early start last Saturday as they travelled to Dublin to play Wesley at 10 prior to the Ireland Italy game. Everyone arrived home safe and sound from what was a really enjoyable day. Well done and thanks to the under 12 coaches for arranging.
The Blitz season is beginning and the Under 8 and Under 9 travel to the wilds of Mayo on Saturday morning. Westport has to be the most scenic club grounds in Ireland with the games commencing at 10.30 and finishing at 11.30 with an expected arrival home time of 2.30. The remainder of the age groups have their last training session before the annual Glynn Cup day with Galwegians on Mar 17.
There is no training on Mar 10 as our Under 12’s host what is probably the best blitz in Ireland for the Connacht under 12’s. I would encourage all parents and rugby enthusiast to join us on the day for Christies swan song and what promises to be his best yet.

Minis are training as usual on Saturday at 10. We’re still uncertain about the pitches but a dry day on Thursday may make a difference. The Under 12 squad are going to Dublin and playing Wesley prior to the Ireland Italy International in Landsdowne Rd. Christy O’ Sullivan coordinated and organized what looks like to be a brilliant day out.
The mini coaches will be modeling the well earned new spring collection of Coaches Jerseys. This fashionable design was inspired by Joe Joe Gorman and we hope to get the best dressed coaches award at the Glynn Cup day out on Mar 17. These jerseys were given free of charge as a small token of appreciation and recognition of the tremendous work being done at mini level. Thanks Joe Joe for the great idea and organization and credit to the sponsorship from NRG Fitness, Mochabeans, Avenir Sports and Euro Langauges College which covered 100% of the cost.

Training went ahead as scheduled for all minis last weekend. While we are fortunate to have the all weather astro the kids and coaches were delighted to get back onto what’s left of the grass on all 3 pitches. Some of players were unrecognizable and all you could see was the big smiles. I’m hoping that it was worth it as they faced a serious scrubbing when the got home.
New registrations are still coming in and we are facing a scenario where one age group has certain age groups are closed until next year. Training continues at the normal times and the coaches are busy preparing for the up and coming fixtures for all age groups.

The mini’s are still battling the wet weather and unavailability of pitches. A staggered training routine is allowing us to get all prospective internationals training every Saturday thanks to the excellent all weather facilities. Whilst the earlier start doesn’t suit most of us the kids as always take it in their stride. We are unsure what the weather has to serve up so we will be updating all parents once everything has been confirmed.
Numbers continue to grow and we have adapted our fixtures schedule to allow us to continue with our policy of getting all kids on the pitch in a non competitive fun environment.

We had over 225 minis Corinthians training on Saturday morning. While the mums were none too pleased with the mud covered Corinthians the players had a great time. The Senior Squad had a week off and they volunteered their assistance on Saturday morning. Their rugby knowledge and fun was really appreciated by all and all the minis are looking forward to reciprocate with their support.
The under 6 and 7 are training at home this week. The Under 8, 9,10,11,12 are traveling to on Gaeltacht. All the coaches are looking forward to the first away outing and early start of 8.45 on Saturday morning!.

Corinthians minis have passed another record membership milestone. Training continued on all pitches last Saturday morning and we are due to train again on Saturday morning at 10am. This year we are putting additional empahasis intro coaching and we have reduced the amount of matches. The Senior squad hope to pick up a few tips as they kindly volunteered to assist in coaching on Saturday morning.

Following the hugely successful 6am breakfast the minis quickly got over their disappointment and enjoyed a rescheduled early morning run out. We had an exceptional turn out at training and the numbers are still growing. This week we are back to basics preparing ourselves for the up and coming fun fixtures

Dear Sirs, I am writting you from Valencia (Spain). We are a family of seven members, and we are planning to enjoy 15-20 days of our summer holydays, from 24th July to 9th August in Galway. Two of my sons,a couple of twins of 7 years-old play rugby here in Valencia, and they would like to join your team during that time. I wonder if there are “summer rugby camps or schools” organised by your club? Please could you inform me about this event, dates, location, prices, etc. In the case of your club is not involved in this activity, I wonder if you know and you could inform me of any other club that could match with this request. Thank you very much in advance. Best regards.
