Corinthians travelled too Belfast after a three week break due to weather conditions,they had high hopes of taking lowly Malone.The visitors took the game to Malone and put the home side under pressure from the kick off.Corinthians had an opportunity of getting over the try line in the first few minutes but strong defence by the home side kept the visitors out. Molone conceded a penalty in front of the posts after ten minutes of play this was converted by outhalf Brian Morley.The visitors were fully on top but an intercept by centre Mark Mc Crea on the half way line got the home side on the score board this was converted by fullback Jamie Pitland.The centre got in for another score before halftime which was unconverted this left the visitors leading by fifteen points to three at the break.Corinthians stepped up there game in the second half but were unable to show it on the scoreboard with three missed penalties.Eventually the visitors got over the try line with fine work by the pack with Captain Pat Cunningham getting the touch down this was converted by B Morley.Corinthians now forcing the game in the latter quarter were penelised twice Pitland converted both.The visitors still kept driving forward trying to gain a bonus point in the last few minutes with great work by Johnny O Connor who was wearing the Corinthian jersey after a ten year break Eoin Griffin got a hold of the ball and made a great run up the the touch line to be tackled into touch on the try line just on the final whistle.Corinthians host Highfield next weekend.
