The other under age sides levelled each other out so it was down to the wire with the last few games.Corinthians over 35’s came off second best as did the 2nd fifteen but the ladies tag teams did the business when the chips were down as they did in the Glynn Cup last season. All that was required was for Crescent to secure a draw in the last game against the visitors senior side to win the trophy.
Corinthians first 15 who lost out in injury time to Galwegians in the senior league last week were really tuned up for this encounter. Crescent put the visitors under pressure early in the contest but an intercept by Corinthians centre Conor Murphy got a run in to touch down under the posts he also converted same. The same player converted a penalty after Crescent player Andy Price was penalised for killing the ball. The score at the break had the visitors leading by ten points to nil.The home side out half Louis Patterson converted a penalty after a infringement by the visitors but were unable to make any more headway for the remainder of the game especially with Corinthians number eight Rory Connellan making a fine come back from injury and fullback Kieran Dolan putting the ball away to kill off the home side attacks.Murphy converted another penalty for the visitors to win by thirteen points to three. The game was well referred by Munster branch ref Leo Colgan.
