The Glynn Cup took place in Cloonacauneen on St Patricks Day between Corinthians and Galwegians.A huge attendance turned up to see the new format in its third season of fourteen teams partaking from Senior too Under Thirteens.The organization of the event was huge so both presidents of there clubs Michael Berry of Corinthians and Derrick Murphy of Galwegians deserve a great deal of praise as do there subcommittees for running the event so smoothly.Corinthians won the day with Adrian Glynn presenting the GlynnCup to senior captain Wayne Williams and Vivian Langan presented the Langan Trophy to Daithi Joyce grandson of the deceased Jimmy Joyce.President Jim Foy of the Connacht Branch was also in attendance as were some of the inaugurial players of the Glynn Cup many years ago.The highlight of the day was the participation of the 6’s to 12.s section which took over the three pitches these matches preceded the senior game which Galwegians won the bragging rights winning eighteen points to seventeen but Corinthians won the overall.
Corinthians next outing is away to Bective Rangers in the Ulster Bank Div 2 on Saturday March 26th.
