Corinthians and Buccaners played out their final Senior League game in Cloonacauneen Park on Saturday even though Galwegians won the trophy the week previous. The home side will be the happiest going in to there respective AIL Leagues next weekend. The Clooncacauneen outfit got off to a flying start with a fine penalty by winger Wayne Williams.Corinthians were on the score board again within ten minutes  with right winger Rory Connellan getting in for a touch down with outhalf Conor Murphy doing all the donkey work Williams added the extras.After twenty minutes Corinthians caused a turn over when Bucks number eight Kolo Kirpam was cleaned out by prop Tom Toolan with Williams kicking for the corner.With the resulting lineout been won by lock Pat Cunningham and setting up flanker Sean Gerrity to drive over for another try which was again converted by Williams.The visitors number ten Adam Kennedy was sin binned by referee Danny Collins for foul play at the half time whistle.

With the second half only a few minutes old ex Corinthian prop Dennis Buckley got his walking papers for ten minutes from the resulting penalty the home side drove forward with Auriell Casanova touching down under the posts with Williams added the extras. The best try of the afternoon came in the twenty minute of the second half with scrum half Mickey Murphy getting his backrow moving for flanker Joey Merrigan to slip the ball to winger Connellan to touchdown. The visitors upped their game after they got there full compliment back on the pitch with New Zealander Kirpam scoring out wide Kennedy converted same.Replacement prop Benny Gilligan got over for another try with five minutes remaining which was unconverted.Corinthians drove up the pitch again after the drop off for outhalf Murphy to convert a penalty as the visitors were penalized for killing the ball.Bucks had the final say with Kirpam getting in for his second try which was unconverted.

Corinthians travel to Midelton on Sat 1st Oct for their first AIL game of the season. Bus leaves Cloonacauneen Park at 8am.
