Corinthians had to dig deep against Thomand for this very important win too consolidate there position in division two.The home side were first on the score board with a penalty by outhalf Miah Nikora.Thomand equalized after eighteen minutes after the home side were penalized for killing the ball Thomand outhalf Declan Cusack converted same. Corinthians set up another attack and were just thwarted by Thomonds loosehead and captain Eddie Fraher who was penalized for foul play Nikora converted same leaving the home side leading by six points to three.Corinthians got there first try after thirty minutes with a great scrum on there own twenty five a fine line kick by Nikora brought play up to the visitors five meter line.The home side turned over the lineout and drove over the Thomond line with wing forward Shane Geraghty getting the touchdown.Corinthians got there second try just before the break after Mark Byrne rucked a quick ball to scrumhalf Mark Dolan who linked up with lock Pat Cunningham he duly passed to centre Wayne Williams and second centre Eoin Griffin received same and made good ground for to give the final pass to winger James Buckley to score under the posts Nikora converted same leaving the home side leading by eighteen points to three at the break.

The home side were again on the score board after five minutes of the second half with a great steel by prop Denis Buckley who linked up with Cunningham, the lock got the ball out to hooker Joe Merrigan who made great ground to off load to winger Buckley to get in for another touchdown.Corinthians seemed to loose there consentration after that score and started giving away silly penalties giving cause for Thomand to lift there game and fair play to them this they duly did with tight head Tom Clifford driving over to touch down in the corner.Corinthian prop D Buckley was sin binned after this which gave the visitors greater impectus and they got over for another score with great leg work by flanker Leonard Slattery to get the ball out to centre Ger Finnucane to touch down Cusack converted same.The last ten minutes was hard fought by both sides with referee Olly Hodges(MAR) finally blowing the final whistle leaving the home side coming out winners by twenty three points to fifteen.Next outing for Corinthians is an away game against Greystones on saturday 27/3/10.
