Galway Corinthians launched a supporters club programme to coincide with the start of the the new AIL season against Co Down visitors Ballynahinch which was a huge success on the day.

On the pitch itself it was a tough day for the home squad even though Corinthians held the visitors to sixteen points apiece at the break with winger James Buckley and prop Denis Buckley scoring two trys Out half Shane Mulally converted two penalties.But the visitors responded in kind with Adam D’arcy and Neall Hanna(capt) getting in for the touch down,  likewise the visitors outhalf Rory Bambry converted two penalties.

The second half was all Ballinahinch with flanker Jimmy  Donalason and fullback D’arcy getting in for touch downs which were converted by Bambry.

Subsitute Kieran McCall got in for another touchdown after loose defence by the home side which was again converted by Bambry and the same man kicked another penalty before the final whistle which left them easy winners at the final whistle by forty points to sixteen.

The game was well controlled by IRFU ref Kevin Beggs.

The next game for Corinthians is away to Clonakilty at the Vale is on Saturday the 9th Oct.
