Corinthians came out well on top in the side pitch at College Road against local rivals OLBC on Sunday afternoon.The side pitch was in perfect condition with the visitors running in six trys.Winger Kieran Dunne scored early in the game with scrum half Hugh Griffin converting same,Griffin got in for a try also and kicked the convert he converted a penalty just before halftime leaving Corinthians leading by seventeen points.
Club got more into the game in the second half with second row John Sullivan and lock Derek Glannon driving forward but were unable to touch down. Griffin made a great solo break against the run of play to touch down out wide.He also kicked another penalty after referee Stewart Gaffikin(URFC) penalised for foul play.The home side halfbacks Dan McManus and Kieran Berry made every effort to run the ball but Corinthians stood solid with Garrath O Sullivan clinching the bonus point when touching down for the forth try.
Right winger Niall O Shea also got his name on the score board with a fine run down the wing to touch down this was also converted leaving the score at full time 37 points to nil for the Cloonacauneen outfit.Other players to stand out for the visitors were S Murphy,B McCann,C Begly.
